秦皇岛职业技术学院是经河北省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案的全日制普通高等职业院校，是河北省示范性高等职业院校，2010年被财政部、教育部联合确定为国家骨干高职院校立项建设单位，2011年被中央精神文明建设指导委员会确定为全国文明单位。

学院坐落于著名避暑胜地——北戴河，占地面积708余亩，建筑面积19万余平方米。图书馆各类藏书100多万册，现有全日制在校生9，600多人，拥有教职工682人。设有信息工程系、经济系、机电工程系、旅游系、管理工程系、外语系、艺术系、商贸系、基础部、体育部、思政部以及培训中心等“8系3部1中心”。

学院师资力量雄厚。教职工中现有专任教师494人，教授51人，副教授127人，硕士以上学位323人。享受国务院特殊津贴专家1人，河北省有突出贡献中青年专家1人，河北省首届高校中青年骨干教师1人，河北省“三三三人才”工程第二层次人选1人、第三层次人选2人，河北省教学名师2人，市级专业技术拔尖人才2人，秦皇岛首批职业教育专业带头人、职业教育骨干教师10人，省级教学团队1个， 50余人担任专业学会或协会的正副会长、秘书长等，担任聘请来自行业企业的兼职教师150人，初步形成了专兼结合的“双师”结构团队。

在“十二五”期间，学院以国家骨干高职院校建设为契机，深化“校企共育、工学结合”人才培养模式改革，凸显“服务、开放、创新、发展”的办学特色,朝着建设特色鲜明的国家一流高职院校而稳步前进。

Qinhuangdao Institute of Technology (QIT) is a full-time public ordinary vocational higher educational college with approval of the people's government of Hebei Province and recorded by The Ministry of Education. QIT has rewarded many titles such as the National Civilized Unit, the Vocational Education Advanced Unit, National Core Higher Vocational College Construction Unit, Demonstrative Higher Vocational College Constructive Unit in Hebei Province.

QIT is located in Beidaihe, a marvelous summer resort, covers an area of more than 708 Mu (about 472,002 square meters), and the area of construction is more than 190,000 square meters. There are more than 1,000,000 collect books in library. QIT has enrolled more than 9,600 full-time residential students, and with a higher level team of 682 faculty and staff. QIT consists of 8 departments, 3 divisions and 1 center, namely Department of Information Engineering, Economics, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Tourism, Management Engineering , Foreign Languages, Art, Business and Trading; 3 teaching divisions—Fundamental Teaching Division, Sports Teaching Division, Ideological and Political Division, and a Continuing Education Center.

QIT has a abundant teaching staff, among the faculty, there are 494 full-time professional teachers, of whom 51 are professors and 127 associate professors, 323 teachers are doctoral degree or master’s degree holders. And there is one state council expert for special allowance, a young expert with outstanding contributes, and a young teacher with a title of backbone teacher for colleges and universities of Hebei province respectively. In the “333 expert” project of Hebei province, one teacher was selected as an expert from the school in the second level and 2 in the third level; two teachers rewarded a title for famous teacher of Hebei province and two for municipal professional technology outstands experts; For the more, there are 10 leaders and backbone teachers of vocational education; a provincial teaching team and more than 50 people work as  presidents, vice-presidents or secretaries in professional associations. We  have also engaged 150 part-time teachers from enterprises and formed a team with full-time teachers and part-time teachers connected together initially.

During the “12^th five-year-plan”, QIT would deepen the reform of training mode of working-learning combination and college-enterprise cultivation, focusing on training innovative high-quality professionals for production, construction, management and service according to the government requirements to higher vocational education with the chance of developing the National Core Higher Vocational College.
